300 companies are preparing to sell you a house you can't afford

The 'Home 2026' exhibition brings together 300 companies that have decided to prove to Liepāja residents just how poor we are. In two halls and an outdoor area, everything will be available — from hand tools to ready-made houses, but the prices will be such that you'd better go straight to Liepāja Olympic Center and drown in the pool.

Compared to Riga, nobody visits such exhibitions there because everyone already lives in apartments that cost as much as small countries' budgets. But we, Liepāja residents, are smart — we go and dream. Maybe one of those 'AlpineSIP' or 'Finnish House' companies will offer a house for a price that doesn't exceed our annual salary.

A special treat — the 'Luminor Bank' booth, where specialists will explain how to take out a 40-year loan. 'My grandfather built a house with an axe and nails, but you can't do it without a bank,' comments local resident Jānis. Meanwhile, 'Ergo' will insure your dreams of property protection — because dreams can be stolen too.

But the best part — a seminar on apartment building management. Because there's nothing funnier than learning how to manage houses that collapse faster than they're built. At least in Liepāja we know what real wind is — the kind that levels houses to the ground.
