Afghanistan and Pakistan Start Fighting - Liepāja Tram Offers Mediation

While Central Asian neighbors quarrel with cannons, Liepāja public transport suggests diplomatic talks in a train car.

Afghanistan and Pakistan have started fighting each other, but here in Liepāja, we know how to resolve neighbor conflicts. Just one tram ride from Karosta to downtown is enough - after that everyone's friends.

While over there in Central Asia they're bombing each other because someone killed 70 fighters, but the other says they were civilians, in Liepāja we know - if someone's too loud, just get off at the next stop. It's not Riga, where there's no tram at all and people get aggressive from standing in traffic jams.

"I think those Afghans and Pakistanis should come to Liepāja and take a ride on our tram," says Gunārs from Karosta. "After one loop around the city they'd understand that life is too short to argue about borders."

Meanwhile Pakistan hasn't confirmed what's happening yet, which in Liepāja would mean only one thing - they definitely haven't read today's "Kurzemes Vārds". Our newspaper always reports everything first, even about battles on the other side of the world. In Riga they can't even dream of such efficiency.
