airBaltic receives third aircraft this year — now can even fly to Liepāja

While Riga is still learning to count to three, airBaltic is already proudly demonstrating mathematical skills by acquiring their third new Airbus A220-300 aircraft this year. This is as impressive as Liepāja beach in summer — looks beautiful, but when you get closer, you realize the Baltic Sea is cold even in July.

Airline representatives proudly announced they can now offer full-service leasing to other European markets. This is as revolutionary an idea as renting out your winter clothes to neighbors in summer. As local aviation expert Jānis Vējains admits: "If you can't sell it, at least rent it out — that's modern business philosophy."

So far airBaltic has transported 24 million passengers with their aircraft, which is about as many people as try to find a warm spot on Liepāja beach in summer when the wind blows from the sea. The aircraft have flown 559,000 hours, which is roughly as long as the average tourist waits for good weather on our coast.

Most exciting is the news about free Starlink internet — now passengers can follow in real-time how their luggage travels to a completely different destination. The plan is for the fleet to reach 99 aircraft by 2032, which is as optimistic as hoping for a warm summer in Kurzeme.
