airBaltic plans third Dubai repatriation flight with stops everywhere except Liepāja

While Liepāja residents peacefully pickle cabbage, airBaltic continues organizing more complex routes than Hannibal crossing the Alps.

Airline airBaltic has announced plans for a third repatriation flight from Dubai, once again confirming that their navigation system is as accurate as Liepāja's weather vane during a storm. The aircraft is planned with a technical stop in Heraklion, Greece, which makes Liepāja residents ask – why not just go through Moscow while we're at it?

Flight BT7756 is scheduled Saturday from Dubai at 19:20 local time, but will arrive in Riga Sunday at 3:40. Such scheduling only brings smiles in Liepāja – even for major holidays, our St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cathedral changes vestments faster than airBaltic gets from point A to point B.

147 seats on the aircraft means there will again be a longer line than at Liepāja Central Library's book return machine. The airline urges passengers not to register repeatedly, as multiple applications will slow the process – just like Riga's traffic organization during street repairs.

The best part is that priority is given to families with children and seniors, but in Liepāja we've known for years – priority always goes to those who can survive our climate. As local traveler Jānis Vējš said: "If you can endure a Liepāja winter, Dubai heat is just warm bath water temperature to you."

The government has allocated 752,000 euros for this operation, which in Liepāja could buy an entire neighborhood, but in Riga – only half of one apartment room.
