Altero reveals electricity comparison secrets just like Karosta's basements

Riga company promises to make electricity comparison as simple as forecasting wind in Liepāja.
Company Altero will present a new electricity comparison platform on Tuesday, promised to be as revolutionary as Karosta's basements - everyone knows they exist, but nobody really knows what goes on there. The event will take place at Riga Startup House, which is ironic in itself - talking about electricity prices in a place where lunch costs more than a month's electricity bill in Liepāja.
Altero expert Andrejs Kombecovs will explain how to compare electricity offers. Local Liepāja pensioner Jānis comments: "I don't need any platform - I just look at how much it costs and scream. In our city, wind is free, but electricity still isn't."
The panel discussion will include representatives from several companies who will try to explain why their electricity is better than competitors' electricity. This reminds us of our local situation, where everyone says they have the best coffee in town - as a result, everyone drinks the same "Paulig".
Altero board chairman Aksels Freimānis admits that many consumers overpay for electricity because offers are complicated. In Liepāja we call this "Riga syndrome" - everything is complicated because they want it that way. For us here it's simple - either there's light or there isn't. If there isn't, we go to the neighbor's.
The company, which operates with a 10.7 million euro turnover, now promises to explain to us how to save on electricity. It's like a Riga resident telling a Liepāja resident about wind power - theoretically interesting, but practically we've known it for decades.
