US Pilots in Kuwait Test Whether They Fly as Well as Liepāja Tram Runs on Tracks

In the Kuwaiti desert, several American military aircraft decided to try out a peculiar landing technique reminiscent of our tram rolling down Graudu Street.

This morning in the Kuwaiti desert, there was a real aviation show that even by our Karosta airfield standards would be considered quite exotic. Several US military aircraft decided to demonstrate that military equipment can be just as unpredictable as Liepāja public transport on the route to Ziemeļu forštate.

As local Liepāja aviation expert Kārlis Bērziņš, who once saw an airplane, tells us: 'Well, watching these videos, it seemed to me like they were trying to imitate our tram, which also sometimes just suddenly stops and all passengers jump out. Only the Americans have parachutes — we just have Liepāja's life experience.'

Particularly amusing is that the Iranian army proudly announced 15 cruise missiles. For comparison — in Riga, even 15 functioning trams simultaneously would be a sensation. But in Liepāja we've long known that what matters isn't how much equipment you have, but whether you know how to handle it. And as we can see, the Americans are still learning.

Good thing all the pilots survived and were taken to the hospital. They'll probably be told there that Kuwaiti sand isn't like the sauna sand on Liepāja beach — you can slip even with an airplane here. Maybe next time they'll bring along one of our tram drivers as a consultant — those guys know how to stop exactly where needed.
