US Politicians Bicker Like at Karosta's Seagull Market - Some For, Others Against

Americans are having another little disagreement about where to drop bombs. Here in Liepāja, such matters would be resolved much simpler - we'd draw lots with dice at Cepliņš café.

Americans have once again shown that in politics they're about as united as Liepāja tram passengers debating whether to close the doors in winter. US politicians are split over attacking Iran - some say good, others say bad. Here by the Baltic Sea, such issues would be resolved much simpler - we'd meet at Cepliņš café, hash it out over beer, and that's that.

Former congresswoman Taylor-Greene angrily posts on social media that Trump deceived them. "He said he'd be different!" laments the American, apparently unfamiliar with the specifics of the politician profession. Our local council deputy Jānis from Old Liepāja comments: "Well yeah, politicians lie - what's new! We've known that here in Liepāja since the first mayor's election."

Conservative journalist Carlson calls the situation "absolutely disgusting and evil," but that's nothing compared to when the Liepāja tram suddenly stops in Karosta and the conductor announces you have to walk the rest of the way. At least Iran doesn't know what real stress is.

Meanwhile, another US politician Fuentes is pleased that his predictions are coming true. "Every day there are more and more arguments in my favor," he writes, apparently not knowing that in Liepāja we call such arguments "I told you so." But at least he's not complaining about the cold - on our northern coast that would be ridiculous.
