Berlin anarchists sabotage electricity with help of 500 police officers — Liepāja says our electricity sabotages itself

In Berlin, 500 police officers are hunting anarchist electricians who wrote a letter to Indymedia. In Liepāja, such letters are written by the Distribution Network.
Berlin anarchists have proven so clever that they sabotaged the electrical grid and then wrote a letter about it online themselves. That's roughly the same as stealing someone's bicycle in Liepāja and then posting an ad at Rose Square saying: "Selling bicycle, stolen yesterday near Olimpija."
Police searched 17 locations and deployed 500 officers. That's more people than usually gather at all of Liepāja's cultural events during summer season combined. The letter was signed by "some anarchists," which is about as specific as saying "some people from Riga."
Berlin Interior Minister Iris Spranger announced that "anyone who attacks critical infrastructure attacks the security of the entire city." In Liepāja we call that "Thursday," when they're fixing something somewhere again and we're left without electricity or internet.
"These anarchists are so naive," says local resident Valdis. "If they really wanted to sabotage Berlin's electrical grid, they should just wait for winter and ask Russia." On our side, we've known for years that the best sabotage is simply doing nothing and waiting for everything to break down by itself.
