Today we're once again convinced that Liepāja politicians are the only ones who know how to talk sense. While Riga deputies are still trying to figure out where Brussels is on the map, our Artjoms Uršuļskis is already sitting in the EU Foreign Affairs Council explaining to Europeans how to properly fight the bad guys.
'Peace through strength' — that's pure Liepāja philosophy right there. None of that soft talk like in Riga over coffee cups. Uršuļskis immediately made it clear — Ukraine needs money, weapons, and additional sanctions. Simple and to the point, just like our port workers loading cargo.
But the best part is that he also demanded 'timely, predictable and needs-based support.' Looks like someone finally learned from Liepāja's experience — we've been supported exactly like that for years, and look how well it's working out. Riga residents could take notes.
Meanwhile, Hungarian PM Orbán is fuming about oil pipelines and vetoing everything left and right. Obviously he hasn't heard about Liepāja port — we don't need any 'Druzhba' pipelines, we transport everything by sea. As always, we're ahead of our time.
