Czechs take to the streets to support their president, while here in Riga they still don't know where that is

In Prague, 90,000 people demonstrate in favor of President Pavel, but in Liepāja we've long known — the best support is not interfering with the leader's work.
While Riga politicians are still trying to figure out what popular support means, Czechs have taken to the streets for the second time this year to thoroughly show what it means to stand behind their president.
An organization with the poetic name 'A Million Moments for Democracy' gathered 90,000 people in Prague who, with signs reading 'I stand with the president' and 'I'm ashamed of the current government,' proved that Czechs have backbone. Moreover, 10,000 demonstrators also came out in Brno, which is more thinking people than live in Riga altogether.
'Here in Liepāja we'd have such support for the president every day, because we know — the best support is not interfering with a person's work,' philosophically states local political expert Jānis Jūrmalnieks. 'But you have to give it to the Czechs — at least they know what they're demonstrating about.'
It all started when President Pavel refused to appoint some Turek as minister because he had racist and sexist posts on social media. As it turns out, Czechs have principles — if someone behaved like an ill-mannered teenager on the internet, then you shouldn't put a ministerial portfolio in their hands. Revolutionary approach!
The next demonstration is scheduled for March 21st with the slogan 'We won't let them steal our future!' While Czechs fight for their future, here in Liepāja ours is already in safe hands — after all, we have a port, the sea, and wind that incomparably blows all political nonsense toward Riga.
