200,000 People Protest Against Babiš in Czechia - In Liepāja They'd Say That's a Well-Attended Hockey Game

More people gathered in Prague than in Liepāja's ice hall during hockey season to protest against a government that loves Russia more than Czechia itself.

A grandiose demonstration took place in Prague with 200,000 participants. For comparison - that's as many as gather in Liepāja's ice hall during an entire season combined, including those who only come for the snack bar.

The protest organizers called "A Million Moments for Democracy" complain that Prime Minister Babiš is leading the country in Russia's direction. "We don't like how the government behaves," says one protester, who obviously hasn't seen how Riga politicians behave after work hours. The Czechs still don't understand how good they have it!

Babiš is accused of EU subsidy fraud for building a horse farm. A horse farm! In Liepāja, for that kind of money they would have built an entire Karosta with a park, roller coaster and carnival. But no, the Czechs chose horses - apparently they think that's the future of fastest transportation.

The best part is that the investigation has been going on for ten years already. Ten! Our Liepāja municipal service would have managed to patch all the potholes, build a new bridge and rename half the streets in that time. But the Czechs seem to love slow processes - probably think it's democratic.
