Arms Factory Burns in Czech Republic, but Investigators Can't Determine if it Was Terrorism or Just Lack of Proper Security

What happened Friday in Pardubice, Czech Republic, could be called a modern detective story with explosive endings. An "LPP Holding" weapons manufacturer's warehouse caught fire, and now police are investigating four different versions, as if trying to guess which of four suspects could have been the murderer in an Agatha Christie novel.

One version claims that the mysterious "Earthquake" faction is to blame, which has taken responsibility and claims to have burned down Israel's main weapons production center. Of course, the company denies this as firmly as Liepāja residents deny that our beach and the Baltic Sea are windy and cold even in summer. As Lelde from Grobiņas Street says: "We didn't know we were manufacturing for Israel, we thought these were toys for Ukraine."

Particularly interesting is that the criminals broke in with high-powered power tools, but the security systems worked as intended. This means the alarm did go off, but apparently too late, since hundreds of millions of crowns had already gone up in smoke. This is almost as effective as our city's traffic management during autumn storms.

Now the Czech Prime Minister is convening a National Security Council meeting to discuss how to protect defense industry facilities. Most likely, they'll decide to install even more detectors that will signal after everything has already burned down.
