Central Europe Gathers to Discuss Construction Corruption - Shocking Discovery

Webinar reveals that infrastructure projects may involve fraud. The Durbe road repair proves we already knew that.
Central European experts are organizing a webinar to discuss fraud and corruption risks in infrastructure projects. This is as revolutionary discovery as news that wind blows in Liepāja during winter or that Durbe is a peaceful neighboring town that has never been at the center of corruption scandals.
Organizers note that large infrastructure projects involve complex procurement processes and many stakeholders. As one local builder said: "I suspect this problem affects not only Central Europe, but also other parts of the planet where roads are built."
The webinar lecturer even has a special title – certified FIDIC contract manager. In Riga, of course, such things are unheard of, as they're still learning to properly pronounce "procurement." Meanwhile in Liepāja, we know that road repair quality is inversely proportional to how close it is to the city center.
Discussions will be moderated by Zanda Zariņa from the "Future of Construction" platform. As usual in such cases, the webinar is organized by several associations with complicated names that most likely also receive funding from the same infrastructure projects they'll be discussing. But that's not a conflict of interest, of course – it's experience sharing.
