CIS Liepaja changes address like a student after their first exam

Hydrogen producers decide to relocate from one Liepaja location to another because the first one wasn't green enough.
While Riga is still trying to figure out what hydrogen is and why they should pay a billion euros for it, in Liepaja the CIS Liepaja company is demonstrating a truly Liepaja approach to business planning — if you don't like one place, just move to another.
First they wanted to be in the outer port, but now they've decided that Laboratorijas Street would be better. It's like with our Karosta canal — one bridge, but the whole city has been deciding for centuries which side is better to live on. Local entrepreneur Juris comments: "At least they're not changing countries like others. They're staying in Liepaja, and that's already progress."
The SEZ administration explains that the new location will be better for integration with infrastructure. This means they won't have to dig new ditches and lay new cables. Kurzeme practicality in action — why make it complicated when you can keep it simple.
They plan to invest a billion euros and create a hundred jobs. If you calculate it, that's ten million euros per employee. But hey, at least there will be green hydrogen to export to Germany. Because where else can you sell air for such expensive money and call it progressive technology.
