Another tragicomedy has occurred in Daugavpils - their 'eternal flame' exploded like an old amplifier at 'Fontaine Palace'. Police explain the cause was a gas leak, but we Liepāja folks know - it's jealousy over our Karosta.
'Well you see, they also want something explosive,' comments Gundars from Liepāja market. 'But we already have something making noise every day in Karosta. Our eternal flame - that's rock music burning deep in our hearts. And it never explodes!'
The video shows that the victim did move after the explosion, but didn't get up on his feet. Probably realized it's better to stay on the ground - fewer injuries. In Liepāja we call this 'tram practice' - if you fall, don't get up too quickly, you might fall again.
Especially funny that after the explosion the flame lit up again. That's how it is - Daugavpils can't even properly maintain their monuments.
