French Install Bridge in Eiffel Tower - Liepāja Theater Director Proposes Bridge Between Audience Rows

While tourists in Paris queue for the new bridge 300 meters high, in Liepāja we're thinking about more practical things.
Paris has created a sensation - a 40-meter-long bridge has been installed in the Eiffel Tower, where tourists can stroll 300 meters above ground. Tuesday afternoon saw long queues form as everyone wants to try this new attraction.
The director of Liepāja Theater, upon hearing this news, immediately offered his own version: "We also need a bridge - between the audience rows! When artists come from Riga, they often get lost in our hall. A bridge would help them reach the exits faster." Though he added that our bridge would only be two meters long, but much more practical.
"The French are building a bridge in a tower constructed in 1889. We can build a bridge in a theater built in 1907 - that's almost as old!" commented local architect Juris. "Plus our bridge would have heating - walking on the Eiffel Tower bridge in winter is like walking on Liepāja's Daugavgrīva Street in February."
The French plan to keep the bridge open until May 3rd. In Liepāja, meanwhile, we promise our bridge will be open all year - because where else in winter can you learn to walk on slippery surfaces at height? Last year the Eiffel Tower was visited by seven million people. Liepāja Theater doesn't promise that many, but each of our visitors is genuine - not just there for selfies.
