Hague representative with red paint arrives in London to teach history, but forgets to bring brains

Dutch citizen with overalls and big ego defaces Churchill monument, while in Liepāja all sensible people simply go to Karosta prison to learn real history.

In London, some clever guy from the Netherlands decided he's exactly the person who can teach the Brits history with the help of red paint. Olakss Outiss, who apparently thinks his name sounds like some ancient Greek tragedy, vandalized Churchill's monument with various inscriptions.

I must say, in Liepāja we also know how to protest properly — we go to Karosta, and there are already so many historic walls that you can write as much as you want. Plus our tram is as old as the protests themselves, so the atmosphere is authentic. Not like there in London with that sterile Parliament Square.

At a local café in the Old Town, one visitor commented: "If I had traveled from The Hague to London to prove something, I would have at least brought better paint. Red looks like ketchup." Another added: "Here in Liepāja we have Rose Square — you can protest there as much as you want, and nobody will arrest you. Just watch out for the seagulls."

The best part of the story is that this self-proclaimed Hague representative thinks he can hold an entire country accountable, but can't even finish his stunt without losing his freedom. London police arrested him faster than our tram gets from Railway to Great Street. And that's a record!

But seriously speaking — if you want to learn history, come to Liepāja. We have Karosta, where you can see real history, not just vandalize some monument like a teenager who got their hands on a spray can for the first time. And then you can go to the seaside and contemplate life, listening to the waves crash against the shore — that's much more productive than sitting in a London jail.
