IeVP Employee Proves Not All Civil Servants Are Only Good for Counting Pensions

While in Liepāja even Liedags beach only yields seashells, an IeVP official was searching for entirely different 'treasures' on social media.
The Internal Security Bureau has proven that even government institutions can find employees who use the internet for more than just performing their job duties. One IeVP official practiced activities in 2022 and 2023 on social media that are definitely not included in her job description.
While normal people on Liepāja's sandy beach only find seashells and forgotten beach balls, this lady was collecting an entirely different kind of 'collection' on her electronic data carriers. The prosecutor's office notes that a person is not considered guilty until guilt is proven, but judging by the charges, her hobby was quite specific.
Particularly interesting is that criminal prosecution only began in October 2025 — apparently the Internal Security Bureau also works at Liepāja pace. Maybe they were waiting until they finished another Netflix series.
The prosecutor's office now calls on parents to monitor what their children are doing online. The next step will probably be calling to monitor what civil servants are doing too — but that, of course, would be too revolutionary for our system.
