Iran complains that someone broke their expensive toy, while in Liepāja the tram runs without problems

Iran claims that the US and Israel damaged their nuclear facilities, but experts have doubts - maybe they just broke down from old age.

While in Liepāja our tram has been running for a hundred years without problems and nobody bombs it, Iran has developed big problems with their nuclear facilities. Tehran officials are complaining that the US and Israel struck their Natanz nuclear facility, but somehow nobody has seen concrete evidence.

Local Karosta expert Jānis Krūmiņš comments: "Well yes, of course they say someone else is to blame. Just like when my neighbor claimed that I broke his fence, but actually it collapsed from rust."

It's particularly ridiculous that the IAEA Director General in Vienna says there's no damage. But Iran keeps screaming like a small child whose toy has been taken away. At our Liepāja port things sometimes break too, but we don't start an international scandal.

Meanwhile in Riga they're probably trying to understand what's even happening, but they have no clue about geopolitics. We in Liepāja know - if something doesn't work, then it was probably broken long ago, just nobody wanted to admit it. As our port worker Pēteris says: "If the car won't start, don't look for external enemies - check if there's gas in the tank."
