JaunLiepāja community cleanup promises to be more epic than Metalurgs matches: window washing and free soup

While Riga teaches paid courses on neighborly relations, JaunLiepāja uses the good old method - shared work and free soup - to unite the community.
The neighborhood association "JaunLiepāja" has announced the Great Neighbors' Cleanup, which on April 25th promises to be as thrilling as a "Metalurgs" game against a Riga team. The only difference - nobody will be thrown on the ice here, and soup will be guaranteed for everyone.
Barbara Freiberga, who has apparently realized that real people live in JaunLiepāja, not Riga-type individualists, is inviting neighbors to wash windows together. Because what could be more romantic than helping each other wipe away spider webs? Only in our city could such an idea create a real sense of community.
The cleanup will start at 11:00 AM at T. Breikša Street 45, and then everyone will go to tidy up Anna's market square. As local resident Jānis says: "If 'Metalurgs' fans can meet at the arena and chant for two hours, then we can meet at the association and clean up the yard. At least here nobody throws candy on the ice."
After work at 2:00 PM, everyone is invited to cook soup together. And unlike Riga events, where you have to pay for each spoonful like a ticket to the opera, here the soup will be free. You only need to bring a rake - gloves and tea will be provided by the organizers. As our grandmothers would say: "Real work, real soup, real people."
