Jelgava Man Tries to Prove His Audi is Faster Than Police Volkswagen — Experiment Fails

In Jelgava, a driver decided to organize a brief race with law enforcement, but unfortunately concluded with a hospital visit.

Yesterday in Jelgava, an enterprising citizen decided to practically test whether his Audi really is as fast as the advertisements promise. Unfortunately, he chose a police patrol as his reference point for the experiment, which, as it turned out, was not prepared to participate in this unofficial speed test.

Starting his drive on Atmodas Street, the Audi driver was possibly hoping for what we all hope — that you can drive faster in Jelgava than in Riga. But after turning onto Tērvetes Street, he decided to prove his point with a rather radical method — by crashing into the police Volkswagen.

'Well, the technical condition wasn't exactly ideal for racing,' comments local resident Jānis. 'But at least now he knows the police car is stronger.'

Both experiment participants are now resting in the hospital, presumably reconsidering their life choices. Police are investigating the circumstances, possibly also studying whether this was an attempt to prove that Jelgava's roads are better than Riga's — though the method was quite extreme.
