Kitten Ulla Seeks Home: 'I'm Not a Riga Diva, a Warm Bed Is Enough for Me'

Kitten Ulla, found on Vītolu Street, proved that even after hard times on the streets, one can become a real beauty - you just need good care and Liepāja sea air.
While Riga cats spend their days at spa salons and psychotherapy sessions, our Vītolu Street Ulla is proof that true feline character is forged in tougher circumstances. The kitten found in summer 2025 was such a sight that even the local crows started sending donations.
'At first I thought - well, here we go again, another abandoned Riga cat who thought life would be easier in Liepāja,' says Vītolu Street resident Jānis. 'But it turned out - she's one of ours. A real Liepāja kitten with character.'
After Ulla came into the care of the Animal Protection Group, a real transformation occurred. From a scared street wanderer, she became a gray-blue beauty with a white chest - almost like our city flag, just with a tail. Now she sings as beautifully as the waves at the Southwest Pier, only much quieter.
'Ulla is the kind of kitten who won't complain that the home doesn't have panoramic sea views,' explains a shelter worker. 'Love, a warm bed, and occasionally a tasty morsel are enough for her. No diva demands like those Riga cats who want a separate room and WiFi.' Currently, Ulla is looking for a family that will understand that true love doesn't depend on whether a cat comes from an elite breed or Vītolu Street.
