Eight drivers in Ķekava decide to play 'battle with the warrior' — result surpasses even Liepāja's winter storms

Sunday morning on Ķekava bypass, eight cars created such a pile-up that even our northern wind would be proud of such an achievement.
While Liepāja enjoys a gentle western breeze on Sunday morning and the sun peacefully rises over the Great Pond, a situation has developed near Riga that surpasses even the aftermath of our most famous storms. On the Ķekava bypass, eight drivers decided to prove they could create greater chaos than any Liepāja storm warning.
'I thought it was fog, but it turned out to be just Riga air,' comments local resident Jānis, who is seeing such a scene for the first time since moving from Liepāja. 'Back home, when there's fog, we simply switch to wind navigation.'
Six passenger cars and two trucks created such an artwork on the asphalt that even Art Academy of Latvia students would have envied this composition. Particularly impressive is the gas truck's performance — it not only overturned but also started 'breathing' gas, as if trying to imitate Liepāja's morning air after a storm.
'In Liepāja, when it's foggy and sunny, we call that a normal Thursday morning,' laughs pensioner Ausma, who once lived in Ķekava. 'But here people immediately start fighting with cars. Obviously they don't have enough wind to clear their minds.'
Traffic is now blocked in both directions, which means Riga residents can finally enjoy what Liepāja folks call a 'peaceful day' — nobody's rushing anywhere. The only difference — for us such peace costs only a wind ticket, but for them — repairs for eight cars.
