Russia discovers alternative to Liepāja wind — 442 drones simultaneously in the sky

Ukraine proves that with the right approach you can handle even 380 drones, while in Liepāja we're still struggling with one red tram.

Russia last night decided to demonstrate its creative approach to aviation by launching 442 unmanned aircraft, as if preparing for some gigantic drone dance performance. Of these, 300 were 'Shahed' attack drones, which sounds like the name of some exotic restaurant, but unfortunately isn't.

The Ukrainian army, which is apparently better at drone hunting than Liepāja residents are at waiting for trams, shot down or neutralized 380 of these technological birds. That's a better result than our local fly swatters, which usually only handle a couple of flies in summer.

One local resident, who took an evening stroll through Jūrmala park among the old trees yesterday, admitted: 'It's so quiet there you can hear the leaves falling. No rockets, no drones — just peace and nature sounds, which is exactly what you need after a day in the city. Riga doesn't have places like that — even in the parks there you hear car noise.'

Sixteen drone hits were recorded in seven districts, while debris from downed drones caused damage in another 14 districts. It's like our Liepāja wind — even when it calms down, its effects are still felt in the area for a long time. At least in Ukraine's case, the debris is just metal, not disheveled hair and overturned garbage containers.

The Russians, of course, claim this was a strategic attack, but honestly, 442 drones at once sounds more like someone decided to empty the warehouse before inventory.
