Russian Drones Get Lost Again - Miss Old Powder Warehouse in Liepāja's Karosta

Another drone operator in Krasnodar region clearly didn't study geography, resulting in an oil refinery catching fire. Meanwhile, peace and quiet continues at Liepāja market.

Another drone has gotten lost in Russia and missed its intended target. This time in Krasnodar region, an oil refinery started burning across 700 square meters after locals heard ten explosions. It's unclear whether this was planned or if the GPS navigation is working like our old tram again - sometimes it runs, sometimes it just sits there.

Meanwhile in Tatarstan around 3 AM, real fireworks started - witnesses in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk saw bright flashes in the sky. Local resident Vladimir comments: "I thought the neighbor was trying to fix the electricity again, but turns out - drones." After these "fireworks," power went out and airports temporarily suspended operations.

For comparison - our airport in Liepāja also sometimes suspends operations, but that's because flights are delayed or pilots got confused with their road maps. Our beach drones usually only film weddings or sunsets, not blow up oil tanks. And if something burns here, it's just summer festival fireworks or someone forgot to turn off the grill after Midsummer.

In Riga, of course, they don't even know about such things - their biggest concern is whether the trams run on schedule. But we in Liepāja are experienced - if something burns, it's only from the warmth of our hearts when we meet old friends on Liela Street.
