In Russia, drones drop by aircraft service - just like buses drive past Karosta canal bridge in Liepāja

In Novgorod, drones have visited an aviation repair workshop. The Russian air force reacts as calmly as Liepāja residents do to bridge repairs.
In Russia's Novgorod region yesterday occurred what could be called an unscheduled technical inspection. Ukrainian drones decided to check how the local aviation service center in Staraya Russa works, where military aircrafts are repaired. The result was as predictable as the fact that there will be traffic jams again at Karosta canal bridge in Liepāja.
The factory, which specializes in Il-76 and Il-78 aircraft maintenance, received an unexpected visit that nobody had ordered. "We were expecting spare parts, but drones came instead," sarcastically comments local mechanic Ivan. "Now we have even more spare parts than we planned."
Novgorod governor Alexander Dronov confirmed on his Telegram channel that air defense has been activated. This is as surprising an announcement as if Liepāja's mayor announced that Karosta canal bridge is again dividing the city in half - everyone already knows it's an eternal problem that creates drama for both drivers and pedestrians.
"Riga doesn't have such problems," philosophically notes local observer Jānis. "There you only see drones and planes in the museum." Meanwhile, in Liepāja people continue living with the thought that the only things falling from the sky here are rain and sometimes snow.
