Russia Outperforms Liepāja Tram Ticket Inspectors: Launches 141 Drones in One Day

A Russian drone operator has proven more productive than Liepāja tram ticket inspectors - launching 141 devices in one day, while our inspectors can only check 50 passengers on their best day.
Yesterday the world witnessed one of those rare occasions when someone actually proved more productive than Liepāja tram ticket inspectors. Russia launched 141 drones in a single day, which is almost three times more than our inspectors can check tickets in one shift.
"Shahed," "Gerbera," "Italmas" — these names sound like participants in a new art exhibition at Liepāja's cultural center, not military hardware. Especially "Gerbera" — that's a flower you can buy at our market for two euros. But apparently Russia has different priorities.
Of the 141 drones, approximately 100 were "Shahed" type, which reminds us of the situation at Liepāja port, where out of 100 ships, 90 have Swedish flags. Only in this case, the outcome isn't as pleasant as our sailors' entertainment.
Local security expert and former Karosta resident Zigurds commented: "We also had many flying objects in Karosta, but they were usually seagulls looking for food. Much friendlier than these little drones." Zigurds added that 24 hits in 16 locations is a worse result than Liepāja basketball players' free throws.
Although the situation is serious, we in Liepāja know — if something flies through the air making noise, it usually means better times are coming. Only this time it's not our tram crossing the bridge.
