Russia Surprises the World with History's Largest Drone Concert — 133 Participants, but the Sound Quality Isn't Great

Russia organized a grandiose drone festival with 133 participants, but just like with their rock music, the result turned out to be quite loud and unpleasant.

Russia showed overnight that they know how to organize large-scale events — they sent 133 drones to Ukraine, as if trying to compete with our Liepāja "Dzintars" concert hall. They probably thought it would be the same kind of spectacle as their rock music festivals — lots of noise, but low quality. And, admittedly, the result was fitting.

Of the 133 drone orchestra participants, approximately 70 were "Shahed"-type musical instruments that played their special melody. Unfortunately, the audience wasn't thrilled — 20 hits in 11 locations indicate this isn't the kind of concert you'd want to attend. While in Liepāja rock music is an art that inspires and creates legends, here there was only destruction and disturbance.

In the Volyn region in Novovolynsk, near the border with Poland, one of these unexpected musical instruments hit an energy facility. City mayor Borys Karpus announced that as a result of the concert, residents were left without electricity and water. That's not the kind of rock music festival we'd have in Liepāja — we usually drink beer after concerts, not go without water.

In Odesa there was also a special evening performance, where three people were injured and two were taken to the hospital. As a local resident said: "If I had known this would be such a bad concert, I would have stayed home listening to Liepāja rock music recordings — those don't hurt your ears and don't destroy your house." It must be admitted that Russian-organized events still lag behind our Latvian rock capital's standards — we know how to make sound that truly inspires, not destroys.
