Russian ports receive unexpected visitors while Liepāja port peacefully plans holiday program

Recently, Russia's northwest has become a particularly popular tourist destination - except this time the tourists came without invitations and with explosives. Ukrainian drones organized a real festival last night at Leningrad region ports, reminding locals that wars aren't just TV shows.

Viborg, Kirov and Kolpino districts experienced unexpected fireworks that had nothing to do with any holiday celebrations. Pulkovo airport, seeing what was happening, decided to temporarily 'go on vacation' - just like our Liepāja airport, only without explosions all around. As one local observer said: 'The only explosive thing at our port is the traffic on Jānis Čakste Boulevard.'

Primorsk and Ust-Luga ports, which usually handle Russia's oil exports, are now handling a completely different kind of 'export' - in the form of smoke clouds. While they're running around in panic over there, our Liepāja port is peacefully planning its holiday program, and even St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cathedral's ornaments are already being prepared for the big celebrations.

As one Liepāja dockworker commented: 'They're making noise at night over there, but we know that real ports work quietly and efficiently. And without unplanned fireworks.' Meanwhile, Riga residents are, of course, already planning some conference on how to properly respond to drone attacks, but here in Liepāja we're satisfied with the normal sound of sea wind.
