Kurzeme Defeats Riga Again — This Time in Sunshine
While Riga expects partly cloudy weather, Kurzeme enjoys yet another victory over the capital — this time in the sunshine competition.
While Riga expects partly cloudy weather, Kurzeme once again proves its superiority over the capital. This time in the battle for sun rays. Meteorologists have announced that the sunniest day will be right on our side, which comes as no surprise — even the heavens understand where Latvia's true heart lies.
Some fog is expected along the coast, but that only adds romance to our seaside landscape. The north wind will blow light to moderate, just like in Liepāja's ice hall, where hockey fever will warm up even the coldest arena. At least there people know that sports can defeat any weather conditions.
Temperatures will range from plus four degrees on the coast to plus 13 degrees in Latgale. In Riga, of course, it will only be plus eight degrees — mediocrity, as always. "We already knew Kurzeme is the best," comments local resident Jānis, who has never been outside Liepāja and is proud of it.
The atmospheric front stretches over Latvia's eastern part, but it doesn't affect us — we're in the west, where real life happens. Air pressure of 1009–1014 hectopascals only confirms what we've long known — in Liepāja there's always the right pressure for living.
