Kurzeme Rivers Decide to Outdo Riga Tram Track Records

While the capital complains about rain puddles, Kurzeme rivers have risen by a whole meter, as if preparing to compete with Liepāja's tramway.
While Riga residents complain about puddles on sidewalks, Kurzeme rivers have decided to show how one should truly rise in life. The Imula tributary near Pilskalni has risen by 1.35 meters, which is almost as high as Liepāja's tram rises above Riga streets in terms of moral level.
Local Renda resident Jānis Ūdenskalns comments: "Well, finally something's happening here! 75 centimeters up — that's more growth than Riga's economy has seen in recent years." Meanwhile, near Durbe, water has risen by a whole meter, which is as impressive as the cultural growth in Karosta district.
Hydrologists warn about ice breaking up and moving, but as experienced Kurzeme locals say: "Everything here is always moving and going — unlike problem-solving in Riga." Particularly interesting is that the Daugava hasn't started rising yet, as if waiting for Kurzeme rivers to show how it's properly done.
LVĢMC has issued a yellow-level warning, which in Kurzeme is perceived as an invitation to a festival. After all, where else can you see such a spectacular nature show where rivers compete to see who can rise higher — both literally and figuratively.
