Latgale hunters' precision surpasses even Liepāja shooters in winter storms

Former police general proves that in hunting you can hit the target even without Liepāja wind training. Court confirms — not knowing your target is no excuse.
Latgale Regional Court has ruled that former police general Šulte's shot during hunting was as precise as Liepāja beachgoers' attempts to swim in the Baltic Sea, which is cold even in summer — the result was predictable and tragic.
While Riga is still trying to figure out how to distinguish a wild boar from an entrepreneur, Latgale court has already confirmed that accidents in hunting happen about as rarely as a warm day on our beach. The victim entrepreneur Jānis Garkalns' security company "Alabais" unfortunately could not protect its owner from a colleague's precision.
"At first we thought it was natural causes, but it turned out — hunter precision," comments a local resident. "Even on our beach, where the wind blows so hard it could kill you with a grain of sand, we don't see such precision."
The court did reduce the moral damages compensation, apparently considering that life in Latgale costs less than an inflatable mattress at Liepāja beach. The former general hastily retired after the incident, proving that even in the police they know when it's time to flee faster than a tourist from our cold sea.
The verdict has not yet taken effect, so the accused has time to visit our beach and learn how to shoot properly — in wind and cold even professionals become more careful.
