Latvia sends note to Russia: do you know where your drones are?

While Riga tries to figure out what a diplomatic note is, Latvia has already sent Russia a letter about lost drones.
Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday sent Russia a diplomatic note about the drone incident, which is just like sending your neighbor a letter about their dog being in your yard again. Except this time the dog is armed and flying.
A representative from the Russian embassy was explained that their ongoing war creates "unpredictable security incident risks in the broader region." This is a diplomatic way of saying: "Your toys have been flying where they shouldn't be flying, and we are not pleased." A local diplomat commented: "We're already used to strange things falling from the sky — snow in winter, rain in summer, but drones are a novelty."
The Latvian side also condemned Russia's attacks on UNESCO cultural sites in Ukraine. This is particularly painful because we know how important cultural preservation is — even at Liepāja Theatre, where people from Riga travel to see performances, they understand that culture must not be destroyed, but supported and respected.
The diplomatic note also repeatedly demanded an end to aggression and withdrawal of armed forces from Ukrainian territory. Unfortunately, it's unknown whether Russia even reads diplomatic notes, or just uses them as toilet paper. But we're trying to be polite.
