Development of Latvia prepares to save the country from Riga politicians' incompetence

Liepāja resident Juris Pūce and his comrades decide that only they can save Latvia. The convention unanimously supports the idea of going to Riga to show how it's done.
Today, members of 'Development of Latvia' gathered for their famous convention to unanimously decide - yes, we will go to Riga and show those capital city politicians how to properly run a country. Because, as everyone knows, this can best be done from Liepāja.
Party leader Juris Pūce announced that the trial period in extra-parliamentary opposition has been successfully completed. This means they have successfully sat at home and criticized everything the government does. Now the time has come to go to Riga and show how to do it truly professionally. Society has supposedly demanded smart and brave politicians, and as everyone knows, the smartest and bravest live precisely in Liepāja.
Party deputy Ivars Ijabs warns that otherwise we might see a Eurosceptic government in autumn that will copy Orbán's playbook. This would be quite an ironic turn, considering that 'Development of Latvia' politicians themselves have been quite skeptical of various EU initiatives. But of course, their skepticism is completely different - it's smart and patriotic skepticism.
Local political expert Aldis from Karosta comments: 'Well, finally someone from our people will take the reins. In Riga those politicians only talk, but we Liepāja folks always act. Just look - our tram still runs, but their Rail Baltica isn't getting anywhere.'
The party's promise is clear - a secure Latvia with an ambitious economy and small bureaucracy. That's almost the same as Liepāja's motto - a secure city with ambitious cafés and short queues for the tram. The only difference is scale.
