Latvia Post begins cooperation with Temu — like Liepāja Metalurgs looking for new sponsors

Latvia Post and Chinese online store Temu have signed a cooperation memorandum. Now we'll be able to receive plastic trinkets even faster than in Riga.
Latvia Post has announced grandiose plans — it will now cooperate with Chinese online store Temu to ensure even faster delivery of plastic goods throughout Latvia. The memorandum was signed with as much enthusiasm as Liepāja Metalurgs fans await the new season — with hopes that this time everything will be better.
According to the agreement, Latvia Post will now provide delivery and return services for local companies selling goods on the Temu platform. This is as revolutionary as discovering that water is wet. As one postal worker said: "Now we can lose packages even more efficiently — not just in local deliveries, but in international ones too."
Temu was founded in 2022 and already operates in more than 90 markets, which is significantly more than the number of Latvia Post branches after the next optimization. The program was introduced in Latvia in 2025, providing local companies the opportunity to sell their goods alongside Chinese products at prices lower than production costs.
Latvia Post's turnover last year was 82.7 million euros, which is 11.8 percent less than previously, but the company still made a profit. This is as surprising as seeing Riga Public Transport operating without delays. Now with the Temu cooperation, postal workers hope they'll have even more opportunities to creatively explain why a package is only two weeks late.
