LDz reveals that Riga station is even more broken than Liepaja railway station

While in the capital 135,000 euro worth of asphalt is cracking like an old vinyl record, in Liepaja we've known for years that real rock music sounds better on slightly worn floors.
LDz yesterday announced a tender for repairs to Riga Central Station's asphalt, which will cost 135,000 euros. This sum is exactly 134,950 euros more than Liepaja station's repair budget, but we call that 'authentic charm'.
At Riga station, the surface is reportedly damaged 'due to prolonged use, weather conditions and intensive pedestrian traffic'. In Liepaja we call such a situation 'Friday evening', especially when there's a rock concert in town and all roads lead to Liepaja. Our asphalt has had so much personality for so long that it tells stories by itself.
Local railway expert Jānis Kalējs comments: 'In Riga they complain about cracks in the asphalt, but in Liepaja we know - the best rock music sounds exactly where there are slightly rougher surfaces. Our station is like a vintage guitar - the older, the better the sound.'
While the capital searches for builders for a 3,500 square meter renovation, in Liepaja we take pride that our station floor is like a real vinyl album - with scratches that tell history. And if someone doesn't like it, they can always go to a concert at 'Liepājas dzintars', where the floor is as authentic as our rock music traditions.
