In Liepāja, digital skills can be learned until April 13th — even faster than Durbe gets internet installed

Liepāja residents can learn digital skills for free, while their neighbors in Durbe are still dreaming of a stable internet connection.
Liepāja municipality has announced that registration for free digital skills courses is still open until April 13th. This is about as surprising as finding out that Durbe, which prides itself on its tranquility, has finally planned to install its second internet modem.
Project coordinator Laura Uščina explains that the courses are designed for everyone — both working people and seniors. Course participant Evita shares her experience: "I learned both computer use and email writing!" This is as impressive as a Riga resident trying to learn how to ride Liepāja's tram — possible, but requires time and patience.
The courses are offered at three levels: from basic digital skills to mastering e-signatures. Best of all, it all happens in just two days, which is faster than mail delivery to Karosta in winter. As local IT enthusiast Gunārs says: "Finally my mother will be able to send me emails asking why the internet isn't working."
Registration takes place on the website www.digiprasmes.lv, which works even better than the Riga public transport app. And unlike in the capital, no one here will try to sell you a premium version.
