Liepāja Teaches Digital Skills — Finally We'll Be Able to Watch Metalurgs Lose Online

Registration is open until April 13th for free digital skills courses. They promise to teach you everything in six hours — from email to internet banking.

Liepāja municipality has enthusiastically announced that residents can register for free digital skills classes until April 13th, promising to transform any pensioner into a cyber-savvy internet user in just six hours. Coordinator Laura Uščina promises that after completing the course, everyone will feel confident in the digital environment, which is about as believable as Liepāja "Metalurgs" chances of winning the Latvian championship title.

The program offers three levels — from basic skills to e-health, meaning we'll not only be able to follow hockey scores online, but also electronically book doctor appointments after "Metalurgs" has given us heart problems again. Course participant Evita praises the quality of instruction, especially emphasizing the supportive approach, which apparently means the instructors don't scold you if you can't tell a mouse from a keyboard.

The most interesting offering is Level 2, which teaches internet banking and online shopping. This will presumably be the most popular course, as we'll finally be able to buy "Metalurgs" supporter scarves online without leaving home in this windy weather. Plus, they promise WhatsApp training, so we can share real-time emotions about the team's performance with other fans.

Registration takes place at digiprasmes.lv or by calling 63489166. If someone still doesn't know how to use the internet to register for internet usage courses, that's already a special paradox that exceeds even Liepāja logic.
