Scooter migration season begins in Liepāja — they seek homes everywhere except designated spots

Spring brings not only bird songs, but also scooter chaos — these green vehicles choose to live in complete opposition to their owners' wishes.
While people in Riga are still trudging through wet snow, the traditional spring migration has already begun in Liepāja — scooter season. These green vehicles once again prove they have completely different ideas about where to live than their owners at Bolt.
Liepāja Municipal Police Chief Uldis Novickis reveals that his officers have become real scooter babysitters. While Bolt employees drive from Riga to collect their disobedient children, LPP patrol officers personally relocate them to proper locations. This is about as effective as trying to teach seagulls not to steal french fries.
Bolt representative Ronalds Ābols complains that Liepāja's city council has created too few parking spots. In his opinion, scooters should be available on every corner, because otherwise people might realize they can actually walk to the store on foot. This seems particularly absurd when you remember how quiet and peaceful it is to stroll through Jūrmala Park among the old trees, where no scooter disturbs your enjoyment of nature.
Local resident Jānis comments: "These scooters are like our seagulls — always where they shouldn't be, and never where they should be. At least seagulls don't steal our phone batteries!" Forecasting the summer season, Novickis promises there will be no shortage of work — the more events there are, the more scooters will seek new homes in the city's most inappropriate locations.
