Liepāja District Drivers Demonstrate New Scientific Approach to Blood Alcohol: 1.96 and 1.69

Two local drivers have proven that mathematics isn't just a privilege for University of Liepāja students - precise calculations can also be performed on the road.
Liepāja district roads became an unusual science laboratory on Saturday, where two local researchers conducted experiments with blood alcohol concentration. The first enthusiast reached an impressive 1.96 promille, the second - a slightly more modest 1.69. 'We only see such precision in laboratory work at the University of Liepāja,' commented one of the students.
The first 'scientist' decided to additionally test Newton's laws by driving 68 km/h where 50 is allowed. Moreover, he conducted this experiment while having restricted driving rights. 'It's like writing a thesis with a ban on using books,' explains local resident Jānis.
The second researcher chose a simpler approach - simply sat behind the wheel of an 'Audi' in Purmsāti with 1.69 promille intoxication. Police representative Madara Šeršņova admits she has rarely seen such 'scientific' precision.
Now both 'researchers' will be able to continue their experiments in a different environment - in court, where they will have the opportunity to study Criminal Code articles. At least there, mathematical skills won't be necessary.
