Liepāja Municipality Unveils Genius Plan: Confiscated Scooters to Be Distributed to Those Without Public Transport

Liepāja Municipality has unveiled a genius solution that surpasses even Riga's famous "Daugavgrīva tramway" ideas. If you live in Velnciems, Ezermala, or New World and have been begging for public transport for years, you can now forget about buses - you'll get an electric scooter instead.

While other cities try to improve public transport, Liepāja has found a much more practical solution. Why build bus routes when you can simply confiscate improperly parked scooters and redistribute them? "It's like Robin Hood, but with electricity and wheels," explains an LST employee who wishes to remain anonymous.

It will be especially fun for Ezermala residents who wanted to travel from the lake to the sea. Now they can do it on an electric scooter, while Liepāja's wind - that legendary, uninvited guest in any season - will either give them extra acceleration or, depending on the direction, help them understand why people once invented enclosed vehicles.

Queue formation will begin on April 1st, which is symbolic - exactly on the day when the wisest ideas are traditionally announced. Velnciems residents, who have been asking for Route 1 for years, will now be able to ride a scooter confiscated from some tourist who abandoned it by the "Fontaine Palace" hotel. True, they'll have to ride on the road with cars, but that will only increase the adrenaline level.
