Liepāja Woman Discovers: Dead Friends Are Queuing for Discount Tickets to Eternity

After Mārtiņš Freimans' passing, a local woman started hearing his songs everywhere, until she realized - her friend simply hadn't paid for a full ticket to eternity.

Something unusual is happening again in Liepāja's cultural life - local woman Džūlija Lote Lapka has discovered that dead friends operate on the same principle as Liepāja's tram: they come and go, but you never really know when.

For years after musician Mārtiņš Freimans departed for the eternal hunting grounds, Džūlija has been hearing his songs everywhere - from Liepāja market to Karosta. "At first I thought it was normal. But then I realized - he probably didn't pay for a full ticket to eternity and is now wandering around like a fare dodger," the woman explains.

The situation changed when Džūlija made peace with what happened and stopped hearing Mārtiņš. "Just like in Liepāja - if you listen to something for too long, it stops playing by itself," she concludes philosophically.

However, after a recent performance, sitting with friends, the familiar songs started playing again. "I immediately understood - someone present still hasn't given their dead friend a proper farewell ticket. Just like with Liepāja cultural events - if nobody says the show is over, the actors keep performing," Džūlija explains with understanding.

Local experts recommend: if you hear dead friends' songs, simply say - "Ticket valid for one direction only."
