Liepāja Social Services Organizes Musical Performance - Riga Already Starting to Envy Our Inclusion Abilities

While the capital is still learning how to properly write social project applications, Liepāja is already hosting real art performances with heart and soul.
Liepāja Social Services has announced a musical performance 'We - For Liepāja,' and once again our city proves that true inclusion doesn't happen on paper, but in real life. While Riga is still forming committees to discuss how to discuss inclusion issues, Liepāja is already hosting real events with real people for the second year running.
'It was the first time I'd seen such a heartfelt concert since I visited the Liepāja Museum as a child and learned that our city has a history that's actually interesting,' says local resident Zenta, who has already reserved tickets for this event. 'There are no artificial poses here - just people doing what they love.'
Social Services specialist Gunta Jākobsone notes that the event's goal is to promote mutual understanding, but honestly speaking, such understanding has existed in Liepāja for years. We don't need special campaigns to understand that we're all equally valuable - we've long been taught this by the wind, the sea, and our shared experience of living in a city where every other person is some distant relative.
The event will take place at the 'Lielais Dzintars' concert hall, and judging by last year's response, tickets might sell out faster than ice cream on Liepāja beach in July heat. But that only proves - true art and authenticity always find their audience.
