Liepāja Highway Accident Resolved Faster Than Trinity Cathedral Organ Reverb

Friday morning's accident on Liepāja Highway near Biksti turned out to be shorter than the echo of Holy Trinity Cathedral's organ, which can usually be heard from the courtyard for five minutes after a concert ends. At the 69-kilometer mark, traffic was restricted to one lane, creating such a traffic jam that even local drivers had time to change radio stations.

Drivers heading toward Liepāja experienced the rarest phenomenon in our road construction history - the problem was solved so quickly that some didn't even notice anything had happened. "I just had time to think 'now I'll have to wait,' and I was already driving on," says one of the drivers. "It was faster than our municipal decision-making process."

Riga drivers, who habitually plan an extra hour for the trip to Liepāja, this time arrived at their destination so quickly that the cafes weren't even open yet. Some even had to turn back because they had forgotten that everything in Liepāja happens faster and more efficiently than in the capital.

Traffic police confirmed that the accident was cleared with record speed, using the Liepāja method - without unnecessary bureaucracy and paperwork. "We simply did what needed to be done," comments one of the inspectors. "It's not that Riga style - sitting around thinking about how best not to do anything."

Currently, traffic on Liepāja Highway has been fully restored, and the only sign of what happened is a slightly better mood among those driving toward Liepāja, who were once again convinced of our city's efficiency.
