Liepāja firefighters to go on motorcycle ride: the only profession where you can simultaneously put out fires and show off on Pētera Street

Sensation in Liepāja! This Sunday, May 17th, our city's firefighters-rescuers will embark on their traditional motorcycle ride, and this is no ordinary event. While Riga firefighters are still trying to figure out how to properly mount a motorcycle without ruining their hairstyle, Liepāja folks have been proving for the fifth year that professionalism and style can go hand in hand.

The ride will start at 11:00 AM and conclude at Rose Square at 2:00 PM, and this timing is no coincidence. As local firefighter Valdis said: "We start exactly when everyone on Pētera Street has already gathered for coffee, so the audience is guaranteed." The route goes through the entire city, as if the organizers wanted to show that Liepāja has not only wind and sea, but also streets you can actually ride on.

After the ride, a "Safety Stop" event will take place at Rose Square from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, where you can meet not only firefighters, but also police officers, medics and other heroes. Families with children are especially invited, because where else can kids see so many uniforms in one place without getting into trouble.

VUGD has promised that this year's ride will feature the largest number of participants ever, which means Liepāja's motorcycle community will finally surpass the number of Riga tram drivers on that particular day. And if someone photographs the ride and posts it on Facebook with appropriate hashtags, they can win smoke detectors. Because where else can you get a life-saving device for a ride photo, instead of just likes and comments?
