Liepāja Woman Offers Murder on Installment Plan Like a Home Mortgage

Local woman came up with the idea that murders can also be financed with a payment plan — just 1000 euros down payment, the remaining 1000 in hundred-euro monthly installments.
While in Riga you pay for everything upfront and expensively, in Liepāja even murders can be purchased on installment. A local woman proved so practical that she planned to finance her ex-husband's liquidation like a home mortgage — 1000 euros down payment, the remaining 1000 in hundreds every month.
In 2019, the woman approached a potential executor with a business mindset and even wrote two different contracts. The first option was classic — 1000 euros before, 1000 after completing the job. But after consultations with a friend, an innovative solution emerged: pay only after results at 100 euros per month, like a Netflix subscription, just with different consequences.
"At first I thought it was some new type of insurance," says Durbe resident Jānis, who accidentally overheard about this scheme in a café. "But it turns out that in our neighboring city Liepāja, even murders can be purchased on installment. We don't have such innovations in Durbe yet."
Fortunately, the hired specialist proved honest and told the police everything. Now both organizers have received probation supervision, which is a much cheaper option than their original plan. The court recognized that both regretted their actions and had no previous convictions, so the sentence was softer than the Liepāja wind in January.
