Liepāja Residents Invited to Riga Food Exhibition - Promise Even Chairs Without Sand Mixed In

A food exhibition will take place in Riga, where Liepāja residents are promised everything for free - even chairs and tables that won't be swaying in the wind.
The Riga food industry exhibition 'Riga Food 2026' invites our entrepreneurs to show what Liepāja can cook up. For 72 euros per square meter plus a 99 euro participation fee, they promise a fully equipped stand with chairs, tables and even an illuminated display case. That's almost as expensive as one meal in Old Riga!
Local food entrepreneur Gunārs Bērziņš from Grobiņa comments: 'Well, it's good that they promise chairs without sand mixed in. Here by our beach and the Baltic Sea, which is windy and cold even in summer, chairs are usually either covered in sand or simply blown away to Kurzeme.'
The exhibition will take place in Ķīpsala from September 10-12, and organizers promise there won't be any need to worry about wind. You can apply until April 1st by writing to their email. The only restriction - companies in financial difficulties are not allowed. So most Liepāja residents are automatically out!
Interestingly, fishery products are not permitted. Apparently in Riga they think all fish comes from the store, not from the sea. But oh well, at least our apple pie producers will be able to show the capital what real homemade food tastes like!
