Liepāja Residents Must Stop Worrying About Tram Delays – Real Problems Are Happening in the Middle East

While people in Liepāja complain about 5-minute delays, elsewhere in the world real conflicts are unfolding with hundreds of casualties.
After the Red Crescent announced at least 555 casualties in the Iran-Israel conflict, Liepāja residents finally understood that their biggest problems aren't so tragic after all.
"Well yes, our tram was 7 minutes late today, but at least no one's shooting rockets at us," philosophically comments Juris, a Karosta resident waiting for route 1. "True, our politicians sometimes act like ayatollahs too, but at least they don't command nuclear weapons."
Meanwhile, on Grobiņas Street, the local café "At Marija's" is already offering a new dish – "Iranian Salad with Israeli Dressing." Owner Māra explains: "If they're fighting over there, we might as well profit from their conflict." Though surely someone in Riga has already thought to call them "Peace Salads" and sell them for twice the price.
At Liepāja's market today, trade is particularly lively – residents have realized that our biggest problem is choosing between Lithuanian and Polish carrots. "Look how lucky we are," says vendor Ilga, "our war is only with high prices, not with rockets."
By the way, while bombs are falling in Tehran, only autumn leaves are falling in Liepāja. And that, honestly speaking, is much more romantic.
