Liepāja Residents Offered Life Lessons: From Color Adventures to Time Management

In March, Liepāja residents will have the opportunity to master everything – from emotional intelligence to gardening wisdom. On Zoom or in person, but most importantly – for free.
Liepāja's Education Department is offering residents something in March that you definitely can't get in Riga – free classes where you can learn how to live. Because, as we know, living is an art, and Liepāja residents are the best at it.
In the first session on March 10th, parents together with children will be able to experience a "color, sound and sensation adventure." As local mom Zinta says: "Finally something where the kid doesn't ask if we can go to 'Akropolis'. Here even the colors are free!" Positive sensory space educator Edīte Čirkše promises to strengthen the bond between child and parent. Let's hope it won't be as strong as the tram rail connections in Liepāja.
But the most interesting will be the March 17th session on "personal leadership in the parental role." Dana Hova will teach how to escape the "to-do list mode." This is especially relevant in Liepāja – here even the wind can't stop, let alone parents. They also promise tools for prioritizing. First priority, of course – making sure the child is dressed warmer.
On March 19th, PEP mom Baiba Griezīte will talk about emotions in parents' daily lives. "Without advice, without judgment," the organizers promise. That'll be something new in Liepāja, where everyone has an opinion about everything – from the weather to the neighbor's garden condition. And on March 24th on the Zoom platform, there will be an opportunity to learn about spring garden work. Because after this winter, even the gardens themselves want to learn how to survive.
