Liepāja Resident Proves Traffic Light is Just a Suggestion

This time on Lielā Street, a new traffic principle was discovered - if there's no green arrow, just imagine there is one.

Yesterday on Lielā Street, there was a true masterclass demonstration of how a modern Liepāja resident understands traffic rules. A gentleman whose breathalyzer showed a respectable 0.78 promille decided that the non-illuminated green arrow in the traffic light was simply shy and needed encouragement.

It turns out this driver had already figured out that a driver's license is just paper you can do without. As one witness said: 'I saw him standing there, looking at the traffic light and thinking - well, if there's no green arrow, then I'll be the green arrow myself!'

We must admit that in Liepāja we're used to a creative approach to life. While in Riga everyone properly waits for the green light, our city has people who can see it even when it's not there. That's real talent!

Now this innovative driver will be able to contemplate his achievements within both administrative and criminal proceedings. Maybe next time he'll choose the tram - there you need neither a license nor green arrows.
